Troubleshooting
Note
Use proper facilities to recycle the used BBUs. The BBU contains lead acid
batteries that may be considered a hazardous material. You must handle this
unit in accordance with all applicable local and federal regulations.

AUTION
The BBU is a sealed unit. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. When
servicing the BBU, replace the entire BBU, not individual batteries or parts.
Opening the BBU will void your warranty.

Troubleshooting BBU Problems
Symptom Possible Cause Procedure
Fault-A or Fault-B LED
is on
A Left or right battery bank
has failed.
– Replace the
BBU
.
Full Charge-A or Full
Charge-B LED is off
A Left or right battery bank
is not yet fully charged.
– Turn on the power and allow controller
module to operate for 7 hours to
recharge the batteries.
– If after 7 hours, the battery low error
persists, replace the
BBU
.
Full Charge-A and Full
Charge-B LEDs are
flashing
A Batteries are charging – The batteries should fully charge in 7
hours. If the BBU is not fully charged in 7
hours, replace the BBU.
“Battery Low” error
issued by software
A Power turned off for
extended period and
drained battery power.
– Turn on the power and allow controller
module to operate for 7 hours to
recharge the batteries.
– If after 7 hours, the battery low error
persists, replace the
BBU
.
B Batteries are weak and
BBU is due for
replacement.
– Check the last service date for the
BBU
.
If it has been two years since the battery
was replaced, replace the
BBU
.
– Operation in an environment with
elevated temperature (above 35
º
C or 95
º
F) may reduce the life expectancy of the
BBU to as low as 6 months.
