Component Description
Management Station A computer used to manage Storage Arrays on the network. The
management station can be either a remote computer, or the host to which
the Storage Array is connected.
Network Management Station
(Optional)
A Network Management Station (NMS) is a console with installed SNMP-
compliant network management software that receives and processes
information about managed network devices using SNMP (Simple
Network Messaging Protocol).
The storage management software sends critical alerts (using SNMP trap
messages) if you configure destinations using the
(GLW !! $OHUW !! 'HVWLQDWLRQV option in the Enterprise Management
Window.
Host The computer to which the Storage Array is connected over a Fibre
Channel I/O connection.
Storage Array A Disk Array FC60, managed by the storage management software, that
consists of both physical components (such as drives, controllers, fans,
and power supplies) and logical components (such as volume groups and
volumes).
