This removal procedure also includes the procedure on the removal and replacement of the

battery harness.

Removing and Installing the Battery Harness

To remove the controller cage/ midplane assembly, or the battery harness, complete the

following steps:

AUTION

Electrostatic charges can damage sensitive components. Use a grounding

wrist strap or other antistatic precautions before removing or handling the

components.

1. Remove the controller enclosure from the rack. See "Controller Enclosure" on page 342.

2. Remove the harness cover plate. See "Harness Cover Plate" on page 349.

3. Disconnect the three DC power harnesses and the battery harness from the back of the

controller cage/ midplane assembly (this may be easier if performed during step 5)
