Audio and video are rapidly moving to an all-digital format. The

Fibre Channel industry is working with the television and movie

industry to provide performance-enhancing Fibre Channel solutions.

New profiles are under development to map digital audio and video

onto Fibre Channel. High-bandwidth, redundant Fibre Channel

storage and workstation links deliver scalable, flexible, and reliable

systems. Bottlenecks and single points of failure are eliminated. Both

fast file transfer and audio/video stream transfers (compressed and

uncompressed) are supported.
