HP StoreFront Mobile Access Release Notes 1.2.9 (5697-3020)

Workaround. To reduce or prevent impacts due to memory consumption, HP recommends that an
administrator restart the HP 3PAR Mobile Content Provider service approximately every 48 hours.
To restart the service, use the Windows services tool or refer to the HP StoreFront Mobile Access
1.1 User Guide for information on using the Mobility Setup Tool 3PARsetup restart command.
Mobile phones unable to connect / cannot add or delete storage systems
In rare cases, user’s mobile phones may not be able to connect to an HP StoreFront Mobile Access
server and the administrator may not be able to add or delete storage systems using the Mobility
Setup Tool 3PARsetup add and delete commands.
Workaround. An administrator should restart the HP 3PAR Mobile Content Provider service. To
restart the service, use the Windows services tool or refer to the HP StoreFront Mobile Access 1.1
User Guide for information on using the Mobility Setup Tool 3PARsetup restart command. If
the problem is not resolved, the administrator should ensure that the time on the physical server
matches the time on the monitored HP 3PAR StoreServ systems.
Multiple device keys for the same device
When multiple unused (or unexpired) device keys exist for a mobile device, only the first device
key will work. For example, if an HP StoreFront Mobile Access administrator generates and sends
a device key to a user and then generates and sends a second device key for the same device,
the user must enter the first device key in the app. The second device key (and any other subsequent
device keys) will not work in the app as long as the first device key remains unused and unexpired.
Workaround. HP StoreFront Mobile Access administrators should carefully plan device key
generation and granting of access.
Notification count appears in iOS app icon
After reinstalling the HP StoreFront Mobile iOS app, a notification count appears on the app icon
even before the user has requested a device key.
Workaround. This can happen when an iOS app is reinstalled. Retaining notification counts
between installs is a feature of iOS. This does not indicate a problem in the HP StoreFront Mobile
environment.
Reconnecting to a storage system after a node fails
In the rare case that an HP 3PAR storage system master controller node fails, the HP StoreFront
Mobile Access server will lose connectivity with that storage system.
Workaround. Restart the HP 3PAR Mobile Content Provider service to reconnect to the storage
system. For more information, see the Mobility Setup Tool 3PARsetup restart command in
the HP StoreFront Mobile Access 1.1 User Guide.
Server connection with storage is lost
If the HP StoreFront Mobile Access server loses the network connection to a HP 3PAR storage
system for an extended period of time and then gains the network connection back, it is possible
that the server will not be able to connect (log in) to the storage system.
Workaround. The HP StoreFront Mobile Access administrator should restart the 3PAR Mobile
Content Service.
