HP StoreFront Mobile Access Release Notes 1.2.9 (5697-3020)
explaining that the app and the server have different versions. These users will be unable to
monitor storage until their apps are upgraded.
• If Android app version 1.0 and 1.1. users upgrade their apps before an HP StoreFront Mobile
Access server is upgraded, when they select the server, they will see an error message
explaining that the app and the server have different versions. These users will be unable to
monitor storage until the administrator upgrades the server or the administrator tells the users
to install the version 1.0 or 1.1 app.
Coordination with certain HP 3PAR OS patches
HP 3PAR OS 3.1.1 MU3 P27 and HP 3PAR OS 3.1.2 MU3 P16 patches support new self-signed
2048-bit RSA SSL certificates for HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage. Upon completion of the upgrade to
these patches, new self-signed SSL certificates will be created. HP 3PAR Remote CLI clients, HP
3PAR Management Console, 3PAR Recovery Manager, and/or any other client applications
communicating to the HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage system over SSL must be upgraded to newer
versions to use the new certificates.
Known issues
Deleting and adding storage systems
If you use the Mobility Setup Tool to delete a monitored storage system and then add the storage
system back without restarting the HP 3PAR Mobile Content Provider service, the HP StoreFront
Mobile Access server may not function properly.
Workaround. You should immediately restart the HP 3PAR Mobile Content Provider service whenever
you delete or add a storage system. For more information, see the Mobility Setup Tool 3PARsetup
restart command in the HP StoreFront Mobile Access 1.1 User Guide.
iOS — App hangs
In some circumstances, the HP StoreFront Mobile Access iOS app may hang while connecting to
the HP StoreFront Mobile Access server or when retrieving storage information.
Workaround. The user should stop the iOS app and restart it. The user will not need to log in
again.
iOS — App shuts down
In some circumstances, the HP StoreFront Mobile Access iOS app may shut down, followed by the
iOS home screen being displayed. This can happen when the Mobile Gateway service is restarted
by an HP StoreFront Mobile Access administrator.
Workaround. The user should restart the iOS app.
iOS — Device keys are revoked
In rare cases, when the Mobile Gateway service is restarted by an HP StoreFront Mobile Access
administrator and iOS mobile devices are connected, the device keys for some of the iOS mobile
devices may be revoked.
Workaround. The HP StoreFront Mobile Access administrator should generate new device keys
for the affected iOS mobile devices and work with the users to reestablish access. HP recommends
that HP StoreFront Mobile Access administrators plan and coordinate restarts of the Mobile Gateway
service with users.
Memory consumption over time
HP StoreFront Mobile Access server software includes a Windows service, the HP 3PAR Mobile
Content Provider service, which can consume memory over time. For example, the service might
consume up to 500 MB of memory over a period of 4 to 5 days.
