This release includes the updated firmware for the HP StoreEver MSL6480 Tape Library. This firmware
can be updated from the library remote management interface (RMI).

Compatibility notes
This version of MSL6480 firmware is compatible with:
• HP Library and Tape Tools (L&TT) version 4.16 and newer
• L&TT version 5.1 and newer
• HP Command View for Tape Libraries (Command View TL) version 3.6 and newer
• TapeAssure Advanced (license installed from and used with Command View TL 3.6)
Firmware version 4.30 changed the MSL Encryption Kit token backup file format and file extension.
HP recommends creating a new token backup file after loading this firmware. The new token backup
file format is compatible with other MSL tape libraries.
Enhancements
• Added support for Advanced Control Path Failover and Advanced Data Path Failover. These are
licensed features.
• Added support for Secure Manager, which is a licensed feature.
• Added support for KMIP (Key Management Interoperability Protocol) encryption key management.
This is a licensed feature.
• The administrator user can now configure permission for the “user” user to open the mailslot and
magazines.
• The power supply fans are now monitored. A power supply fan failure will result in a warning
event.
• The chassis fan in each module is now monitored. If the library cannot determine the status of the
fan, it will display an informational event.
