Remove the existing LBX board terminator
1. On an expansion module (EM):
a. Locate the LBX board cover plate. It is directly
below the Library Management Module
(LMM), and directly above the power
supplies.

b. Loosen the thumbscrew on the right side of
the LBX board cover plate, and pull the cover
plate to the right to remove it from the
module.
2. On a high density expansion module (HDEM):
a. Locate the HDEM umbrella. It is directly in
the middle of the HDEM when viewed from
behind and serves as a cover for the board
platform.
b. Loosen the umbrella thumbscrews and
remove the umbrella.
3. Identify the LBX board terminator. The terminator
is the small, vertical board (as opposed to the
horizontal boards) on the left end of the LBX
board.

4. Pull the terminator directly up to unseat it from the
LBX board.
Install the new LBX board terminator
1. Align the new LBX board terminator with the
appropriate slot on the LBX board.

2. Push the terminator straight down to seat it.
CAUTION: Forcing the LBX board
terminator into the slot can cause the pins
to bend.
3. On an EM, place the cover plate on the module
and tighten the thumbscrew to secure the cover
plate to the module.
On an HDEM, place the umbrella on the guide
posts and tighten the thumbscrews to secure the
umbrella.
4. Detach the ESD strap and close the service access
door.
