CAUTION: Parts can be damaged by
electrostatic discharge. Keep parts in their
containers until needed. Make sure that you are
properly grounded when touching static sensitive
components.
CAUTION: Calibration targets are in specific
locations in the library. When targets are not
in the appropriate locations, they are considered
“out of range” and will cause calibration errors.
NOTE: When replacing calibration targets,
make sure that the plastic rectangle is completely
seated on the magazine.
Calibration targets on the door of the HDEM
are configured exactly like those on the door of
an expansion module. Please refer to the HP
StoreEver Enterprise Systems Library (ESL) G3
Tape Library Service Guide for further
instructions if replacing a calibration target on
the door of an HDEM.
Calibration targets for the HDEM tower must be
glued-on, are white in color, and require the
HDEM Calibration Target specific FRU
(731150-001 SPS-LTO HDEM Mag
w/Calibration Target).
Inspect the contents of the kit
The kit contains one six-slot LTO magazine with
glued-on white calibration target.
Remove the existing calibration target with
magazine
NOTE: Magazines must be removed in a
top-to-bottom order. As such, any magazines
positioned vertically above the one needing
replacement must first be removed.
1. On the operator panel, press the Robotics Enabled
button to turn off power to the picker assembly
and return it to the home position.
2. Open the access (front) door of the HDEM.
3. Identify the magazine(s) needing to be removed
in order to access the correct calibration target,
and then remove any media from the magazines.
4. Using both hands, push the magazine upwards
until it unsnaps.
5. To remove it, pull the magazine towards you.
