Prepare to install expansion modules, if
any
If there are no expansion modules to install, continue
this procedure at Level the module.
If there are expansion modules to install, do not
perform the procedures in the rest of this instruction
document. Instead, do one of the following:
If you are adding expansion modules (EMs),
continue library installation using HP StoreEver
Enterprise Systems Library (ESL) G3 Tape Library
Expansion Module Installation Instructions that
shipped with the expansion module.
If you are adding high density expansion modules
(HDEMs), continue library installation using HP
StoreEver Enterprise Systems Library (ESL) G3
Tape Library High Density Expansion Module
Installation Instructions that shipped with the
HDEM.
The following parts ship separately for expansion
modules and HDEMs; and must be installed in
the field:
Tape drives (expansion module only)
Drive 7-12 Readiness Kits EEB (expansion
module only)
Redundant power supplies
HDEM barcode scanner (HDEM only)
Level the module
1. Lower the leveling legs/feet. To do so:
a. Use the 24 mm open end wrench to loosen
the four locking nuts on the four corner legs.
CAUTION: If you do not loosen the
locking nuts, you may strip the leveling
leg threads during movement.
b. Lower the four corner feet by hand until they
touch the floor.
You may have to use the 6 mm hex wrench
or 16 mm open end wrench to turn the legs
if the threads do not turn freely.
NOTE: To ensure even weight
distribution on the feet, it is very
important that all feet be brought into
contact with the floor without lifting the
module. You can verify whether a foot
is in contact with the floor by
attempting to slide a piece of paper
underneath it.
