Abstract

This document describes how to remove and replace an

existing calibration target in an ESL G3 Tape Library.

CAUTION: Parts can be damaged by

electrostatic discharge. Keep parts in their

containers until needed. Make sure that you are

properly grounded when touching static sensitive

components.

CAUTION: Calibration targets are in specific

locations in the library. When targets are not

in the appropriate locations, they are considered

“out of range” and will cause calibration errors.

NOTE: When replacing calibration targets,

make sure that the plastic rectangle is completely

seated on the magazine.

Inspect the contents of the kit

The kit contains one calibration target.

Remove the existing calibration target

1. On the operator panel, press the Robotics Enabled

button to turn off power to the picker assembly

and return it to the home position.

2. Open the access (front) door.

3. Pull the top of the calibration target toward you

until it unsnaps from the magazine.

Push in the top of the calibration target until it snaps on.
