Abstract
This document describes how to remove and replace existing
air filters in an ESL G3 Tape Library. There are two air filters
in each module. The filters are located at the top and bottom
of the module access door.

CAUTION: Parts can be damaged by
electrostatic discharge. Keep parts in their
containers until needed. Make sure that you are
properly grounded when touching static sensitive
components.
Inspect the contents of the kit
The kit contains one air filter.
You will also need a #1 Phillips screwdriver and the
ESD strap that shipped with the ESL G3 Tape Library.
Prepare the library
1. Take the library offline:
a. Make sure there is no I/O activity on any of
the partitions.
b. Make sure that you are viewing the physical
library. From the View menu or in the
Managed Views region of the Operator
Control Panel (OCP), click the name of the
physical library.
c. Click OperationsChange Mode.
Alternatively, in the Managed Views section
of the LMC, click the mode button next to the
name of the physical library. (The button
reads either Online or Offline.)
The Change Library Mode dialog box
appears with the current state of the physical
library shown.
d. Select the Offline button to take the physical
library to an offline state.
2. On the OCP, press Robotics Enabled to return the
picker assembly to the home position.
3. Open the access door of the module.
NOTE: Aisle power is disabled.
4. Attach the ESD strap to your wrist and to an
unpainted surface inside the door.
