Remove the power supply from the HDEM
1. Vary off the tower using the operator panel on
the HDEM service access door.

2. Enable/Disable button
The LED on the operator panel will turn amber
when the tower is varied off.
2. Turn off the power supply to be replaced, using
the power switch on the power supply itself.
3. Remove the power cable from the power supply
to be replaced.
4. Unscrew the thumbscrews holding the power
supply in place.
5. Using the external handle on the power supply,
pull it towards you to remove the power supply.
Install the power supply in the HDEM
1. Using the external handle on the power supply,
slide the power supply onto the supporting rails
at the top of the HDEM and into place.
2. Tighten the thumbscrews to hold the power supply
in place.
3. Attach the power cable to the replacement power
supply.
4. Turn on the replacement power supply using the
external power switch and close the HDEM service
access door.
5. Vary on the tower using the operator panel on
the HDEM service access door.
The HDEM power distribution box is built to allow
for two completely redundant power supplies. The
following image should be used as a guide when
routing power cables within the HDEM.

Prepare the library for use
1. Detach the ESD strap and close the service access
door.
2. If the library was powered off for this procedure,
press the Power button on the indicator panel to
power it back on.
The library begins to boot up. A library with only
a few drives usually will be fully powered on and
ready for use within 10 minutes. However, if a
library is large with a high number of drives, it
can take more than an hour for the library to fully
power on, complete its discovery process, and
become ready for use. During the power on
process, the Robotics Enabled indicator flashes.
