8. If the drive is empty, skip to Step 10.
9. If the drive is not empty, use the host application
to move the cartridge from the drive to the
cartridge storage slot. Alternatively, use the OCP
to move the cartridge:
a. Select the partition that contains the drive,
then click OperationsDrivesUnload.
b. If prompted to do so, take the library offline.
c. From the Unload menu, select the drive to
unload.
d. Click OK.
10. Take the drive offline by using the Vary Off
operation.
a. From the OCP, select ToolsDrives.
b. In the Drive(s) table, click to highlight the
drive to vary off.
c. Click Vary Off.
d. Click Yes in the warning dialog box.
11. Open the service door of the module in which to
install the drive sled.
12. Attach the ESD strap to your wrist and to an
unpainted surface inside the door.
Identify the location for the new drive
Populate drives in the module from bottom to top,
consecutively, starting with the lowest drive slot in the
lower bay and continuing up from there. Fully populate
the lower drive bay before populating the upper drive
bay, also beginning in the lowest bay slot.
1. EEB in slot 8 (corresponds to upper drive bay)
2. Eth port 6 of EEB in slot 7 (corresponds to drive 6)
3. Eth port 5 of EEB in slot 7 (corresponds to drive 5)
4. Eth port 4 of EEB in slot 7 (corresponds to drive 4)
5. Eth port 3 of EEB in slot 7 (corresponds to drive 3)
6. Eth port 2 of EEB in slot 7 (corresponds to drive 2)
7. Eth port 1 of EEB in slot 7 (corresponds to drive 1)
