Using HP Library & Tape Tools to diagnose problems
With HP Library & Tape Tools installed on the host server you can:
• Identify all parallel SCSI devices connected to your system.
• View detailed configuration, identification, inventory, and drive information for the device.
• Easily update device and drive firmware.
• Run advanced diagnostic tests, including connectivity, read/write, media validation, and
testing the functionality of the device.
• View device and drive error logs.
• Generate a detailed support ticket that can be e-mailed or faxed to your support representative
for analysis.
The HP Library & Tape Tools diagnostic provides an intuitive graphical user interface with integrated
context-sensitive help. It can be downloaded free of charge from www.hp.com/support/TapeTools.
To diagnose problems with L&TT:
1. Run L&TT on the host server. You can install L&TT on the host server, or run it from a CD-ROM
or USB flash drive on the host server.
2. Pull a support ticket for the device.
3. Look at the device analysis results for additional information about the device's operation.
