HP StoreEver 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader Getting Started (AK377-96025, December 2012)

3 Identifying product components
Confirm that you received the following product
components:
1. Autoloader
2. Parallel SCSI cable or SAS interface cable
3. Power cord
4. Product documentation
5. Ethernet cable
6. Six support feet
7. U320 parallel SCSI terminator (parallel SCSI
autoloaders only)
For a Fibre Channel autoloader, you will need an FC
cable.
CAUTION: A high quality SAS cable rated at
the transfer rate of the SAS components is
required. Always verify that the SAS cable you
are using is rated for the data transfer speed of
the interface of your components. SAS cables
described as "equalized" or active are not
supported. For optimum performance, only use
HP cables of the length specified as qualified
for your product.
4 Attaching the support feet
Skip this step if you are mounting the autoloader in a
rack or installing the optional tabletop conversion
cover.
IMPORTANT: The autoloader must be
supported only under both side edges to operate
properly.
Verify that there are no tape cartridges in the
autoloader.
IMPORTANT: The autoloader may be
damaged if it is rotated from horizontal with
tape cartridges in the magazines or robot. If the
autoloader has been used before, remove the
magazines using the OCP or RMI, or if these
are unavailable, use the magazine release holes
shown in “Magazine release (page 13) to
remove the tape cartridges from the magazines.
Gently turn the autoloader over and set it on its back.
Locate the six inscribed foot location lines.
Peel the backing paper off each foot and apply it
within a set of foot location lines.
Return the autoloader to its normal orientation.
