Description
This release includes updated firmware for the HP StorageWorks 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader .
The Autoloader firmware can be updated through any of the following methods:
• Remote management interface (RMI).
• Operator control panel (OCP).
• HP Library and Tape Tools (L&TT).

Enhancements
• Added an indicator for the inventory scanning process to the Autoloader status in the OCP and
RMI. This is visible during the initialization scan and after a magazine is reinserted.
• When the Autoloader status is not Ready, the status field links to an RMI page that reports the
reason for the error.
• Added media statistics to the RMI Status: Inventory Details page in the Comment column. Tapes
are marked poor if the tape has lost 20% of its expected capacity for reading, writing, or both.
• Added a warning to the RMI Support: Firmware page if firmware for a different product or tape
drive is selected.
• Allows LTO3 tapes to be loaded into LTO4 tape drives with encryption enabled for LTO4 tape
drives with W23W, U27W, or higher numbered firmware versions.
Fixes
• Fixed a case where the communication between the Autoloader and tape drive was blocked be-
cause it did not have the highest priority, which resulted in a Drive Communications error (0xF1).
• Fixed a vulnerability in the RMI where a standard user could obtain administrator or service access.
