This release includes updated tape drive ﬁrmware for SAS HP StorageWorks 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloaders,

and MSL2024, MSL4048, and MSL8096 Tape Libraries.

Enhancements

• Implements T10 standards that allow the Library to control encryption of the tape drive.

• A new diagnostic page (C3h) has been created to report algorithm versions used by the tape

drive for FIPS certiﬁca tion.

• Provides a TapeAler t notiﬁcation when a tape that has been used over its usage limit is

experiencing above normal levels of going off track. In the Library, this will appear as warning

event 84. When you see this warning, replace the tape car tridge.

• Adds the ﬁrmware trace logs to the snapshot logs and new commands to the ﬁrmware debug

command set, which makes it easier to debug ﬁeld failures.
