Description
This release includes updated firmware for the HP StoreEver 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader.
The autoloader firmware can be updated through any of the following methods:
• Remote management interface (RMI).
• Operator control panel (OCP) using a USB flash drive.
• HP Library and Tape Tools (L&TT).

Recommended
IMPORTANT: Firmware version 3.90 has been recalled and is no longer available. Certain backup
applications and the LTO-5 and LTO-6 tape drives were incompatible using this version. Any autoloader
using with this firmware should upgrade to version 4.00 as soon as possible.

All previous versions of autoloader firmware.

Enhancements
• Added support for LTO-6 Ultrium 6250 tape drives.
• Added a licensing feature for a possible future release of HP LTFS (Linear Tape File System).
• Implemented signed firmware images to provide enhanced security for the autoloader.
• Increased the maximum number of bar code characters reported by the autoloader from 8 to 15
characters. The default remains 8 characters.
• Now supports the SET AUTOMATION DEVICE ATTRIBUTE command.
Fixes
• Fixed an incorrect behavior with cleaning tapes when the autoloader was operating in Automatic
mode. In earlier releases, when a cleaning tape was moved to the drive using the RMI or OCP,
the cleaning tape was returned to the original storage slot after the cleaning completed and then
the autoloader loaded the next available tape in sequence into the drive. This release does not
