6.3.3 HP StoreAll OS Release Notes (AW549-96082, January 2014)
NOTE: You can reboot a node at any time. The purpose of implementing these features is to
ensure the maximum uptime of a node does not exceed 400 days, thereby preventing file system
performance issues. To reboot the node, see "Powering file serving nodes on or off" in the
Administrator Guide for your model.
• The ibrix_fsck command now runs successfully on a file system that had the root segment
evacuated.
• The ASCII UI Wizard (used for installations and restores) now has a keyboard preference setting
for the United Kingdom.
• Hard links of infected files are now correctly displayed in the Antivirus quarantine list output even
if the original files have been removed.
When an infected file is scanned, it is now correctly added to the quarantine list and data from
the infected file is not returned as part of the scan.
• When a file system is mounted for the first time from a Windows StoreAll client, a timeout no
longer occurs and the following error message no longer displays: Failed setting
allocation policy on <server> error is -651 (RPC Timeout)
• The p1210m controller firmware was updated so that the system clock does not reset approximately
every 50 days. This caused the firmware timestamps to change whenever the system clock was
reset.
• If a node is restarted after a run-once replication task is started (the restart causes the file system
to be re-mounted), file system logging that is typically only required for continuous replication
tasks is no longer enabled. This ensures that orphan events do not get generated, which consumed
memory and could fail or slow performance of the replication task.
• When a file name has the word “error” or “fail” in it, the CRR health report will no longer flag
the file as a potential error. Only valid error strings will be flagged for the report.
• HP System Management Homepage (SMH) has been removed from the StoreAll OS software
package to eliminate security vulnerabilities introduced by HP SMH and enable the Phone Home
configuration to proceed successfully.
• When a 0 Kb file is moved to a WORM/Retained state, the correct mtime is displayed and
Robocopy no longer displays an error message.
• When there is heavy I/O on the cluster, soft links no longer report 0 bytes on StoreAll clients.
• On the rare occasion that a significant number of files are deleted on a cluster tagged for
continuous remote replication and a new replication job is started simultaneously, the background
tasks are synchronized to ensure the deleted files are updated on the target cluster. Previously,
this scenario could result in some files not being updated.
• The health of FTP shares is now reporting correctly due to a correction in the code for the FTP
service. Previously, the status of FTP shares was displaying as “down” even though the shares
were up and running.
• When using the Data Tiering Wizard to create a rule that includes the “not equal to” operator
(!=), the rule is now created successfully. Previously, this type of rule could only be created using
the CLI.
• Firmware for the EG0900FBVFQ disk drive model was added to the FMT for the 9320 platform.
This ensures that these disk drives are updated accordingly (flash recommendation and flash
actions) when using the FMT.
• Updated the FMT to ensure only firmware version 4.6.247.5 and driver version 4.6.247.7-1 is
available for the NC550, NC552, and BL460c G7 LOM network interface cards when used in
a StoreAll system. This combination of driver and firmware versions ensures there are no issues
when configuring failover for bonding mode 1.
