1 Installation
You and your HP service representative e ach play a role in installation. Your HP ser vice
representative is responsible for installing the disk array and formatting the disk devices.
You are responsible for configuring the host server for the new devices with a ssistance
from your HP service representative.
Installation requirements
Ask your HP service representative about the latest supported hard ware and software.

• Storage capacity. The storage capacity for each model is listed below:
XP48: Up to 48 driv es from 72 GB to 8.7 TB, 24 FC ports
XP128: From8to128drivesforupto36TB,48FCports
XP512: Up to 51
2 drives from 72 GB to 93 TB, 48 FC ports
XP1024: From8to1024drivesforupto149TB,64FCports
• Server support. Windows NT server with the latest HP supported patches
• Operating sys

Before installing the disk a rray, ensu re the environment conforms to these requirements:
• Host bus Adap
ters (HBAs) Install HBAs and all utilities and drivers. Refer to the
adapter documentation for installation details.
• (Recommended) H P StorageWorks Remote Web Console XP, Command View
XP Advanced Edition or Command View XP with LUN m ana gem ent feature for
configuring disk array ports and paths
