path “Path and “LUN” are synonym ous. Paths are created by
associating a port, a target, and a LUN ID with one o r more
LDEVs.
port A physical connection that allows data to p ass b etween a
host and the disk array. The number of ports on an XP disk
array depends on the number of supported I/O slots and the
number of p or ts available per I/O adapter. The XP family of
disk arrays supports Fibre Channel (FC) ports as well as other
port types. Ports are na med by port group and por t letter, such
as CL1-A. C L1 is the group, and A is the por t letter.

SVP Service processor, which is the PC built into the disk controller.
The SVP provides a direct interface into the disk array. SVP use
is reserved for H P support representatives only.

TID Target ID.
Volume On the XP array, a volume is a uniquely identied virtual
storage device composed of a control unit (CU) component
and a logical device (LDEV) component separated by a colon.
For example 00:00 and 01: 00 are two uniquely identied
