CAUTION:
The following procedure utilizes the Registry Editor and is intended for the system
administrator. Use the registry editor with extreme caution. A lways use regedt32
instead of regedit. Do not make any changes to the system registry other than those
specified below. If you have questions, please contact the HP service representativ e
before beginning this procedure.
Youmustedittheboot.ini fi le as follows to enable both of the dual power-control
interface (PCI) buses of the d isk array to recognize the LP6000E, LP7000/E, or LP8000
adapter. Then confirm the disk I/O time-out setting.
1. During system startup when the first blue screen appears, press F6 to access the
Windows NT setup utility.
2. Use Notepad (or another text editor) to open the boot.ini file.
You may need to disable the read-only file attribute to edit the file (use the Windows
File-Properties panel, or the DOS attrib command).
3. Add the /PCILOCK option to the system boot entries.
4. Close boot.ini, and save your changes. You must reboot the system for these
changes to take effect.
5. From the Run menu, open regedt32,theregistryeditor.
6. From the Registry Editor, select:
