9. Repeat steps 1 through 9 to format all newly created par titions.
10. When finished, click the Partition menu, click Exit, and then click Yes to save the
changes.

Verify that the N
T system and the disk array are properly connected. Use the following
test to copy a fil
e from D rive C: to the newly installed drive. This process will determine if
the disk array is recognized by the NT system.
To verify the connection:
1. Click the My Computer icon. The newly partitioned disk appears in this window.
2. Click the newly created drive.
3. Click File, and then Properties to open the properties window.
4. Verify that the properties (label, type, capacity, and file system) are declared.
5. Click the C: driveiconintheMyComputerwindowtolistthefiles on that drive.
Select a file, and c opy it to the newly created drive.
6. When the file transfer completes successfully, this verifies that the drive is functioning
properly. You can now place Windows NT user data on this new drive.
