1. You can perform BC/SS operations while splitting pairs in a consistency group. However, the SS data consistency
is not maintained.

Restrictions when sharing P-VOLs
The SS S-VOL uses the data in the P-VOL. The following are restrictions when sharing an SS pair
P-VOL with an BC/SS P-VOL or S-VOL:
The SS pair P-VOL cannot have the same mirror unit (MU) number as the BC/SS pair.
You cannot perform the BC/SS Quick Restore operation.
You cannot share the BC/SS volume that is in a consistency group with SS.
You cannot share the SS volume that is in a consistency group with BC/SS.

You can share Cnt Ac-S and Cnt Ac-J pair volumes with SS P-VOLs. If you share pair volumes with
these software applications, the pair operation you can perform are restricted based on the shared
pair status.
