Enhancements
The HP StorageWorks X1000 Network Storage System comes preinstalled with the Microsoft
Windows® Storage Server™ 2008 Standard x64 Edition operating system with Microsoft iSCSI
Software Target and HP Automated Storage Manager (HP ASM) included.
The HP StorageWorks X3000 Network Storage System comes preinstalled with the Microsoft
Windows® Storage Server™ 2008 Enterprise x64 Edition operating system with Microsoft iSCSI
Software Target and a Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS) license included.
Enhancements for HP StorageWorks X1000 and X3000 Network Storage System version 1.6.0a
include:
• The operating system volume size on all HP X1000 and X3000 Network Storage Systems has
increased from 40GB to 60GB. Note that if you have an existing OS volume smaller than 60GB
and run system recovery, the system recovery process will maintain the smaller OS volume size.
• Most recent Windows updates/hotfixes
• VDS Hardware Provider version 4.14
Fixes
The following defects were fixed in HP StorageWorks X1000 and X3000 Network Storage System
version 1.6.0a:
• VDS hardware provider reports frequent shutdowns and issues error messages
• On HP StorageWorks X1000 Network Storage Systems, HP Automated Storage Manager (ASM)
issues a licensing error for RAID-6
• Multiple alerts are issued for user-defined iSCSI LUNs that are presented to multiple hosts
• Discovery fails if MPIO is configured manually on an application server and iSCSI Target is con-
figured to use initiators identified by IP address, DNS name or MAC address
