Fixes
The following defects were fixed in HP StorageWorks ASM 4.2:
• No alert is shown in ASM when backup discovery fails.
• Microsoft iSCSI initiator is listed as a component to be updated when updating the ASM agent
on a Windows 2003 application server.
• RAID-6 logical disks cannot be created in ASM when the physical disks in the array are of
different sizes.
• ASM does not generate an error if available space is less than the share quota.
• Installing an ASM agent on Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 without installing .NET
framework 3.0 results in an error message prompting the user to download and install .NET
framework 3.0.
• On ASM 4.0 and 4.1, reverted snapshots can dismount the volume. Volumes mounted on
GPT disks on Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 application servers with the storage server
running either Windows Storage Server 2008 or Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 can be
dismounted during the process of reverting snapshots.
• The Create snapshot set function fails repeatedly after a remote device backup has been
executed for volumes hosting Exchange 2007 application data. In addition, the remote device
backup operation does not delete the temporary snapshot which was created during the
operation.
• On HP StorageWorks X1000 G2 Network Storage Systems, HP Automated Storage Manager
4.2 Update installs the Initial Configuration Wizard (ICW), which is no longer available on
X1000 G2 systems.
