Prerequisites If you are running a version of HP StorageWorks ASM released prior to version 4.0, you must first upgrade to version 4.0 before upgrading to version 4.2. Workarounds The following workarounds apply to ASM and Data Protector Express software. HP Automated Storage Manager workarounds This section describes workarounds for HP ASM version 4.2. The Expose snapshot step of the Run virtual library backup job fails with the following error message: Could not find the volume exception.
Files shares with no quotas cause the Allocate storage dialog box to display 0 for the share size. Workaround: Set the directory quota limit for the share using the dirquota command. When ASM next runs the discovery process the size limit for the share folder will appear on the Allocate storage dialog box. Backup job fails with error 4067: Storage pool is full or not enough disk space. When using ASM to create backup jobs, there is a Schedule backups to a local virtual library option.

The Allocate space action will incorrectly display a size of 0 MB for the shared folder and continuing with the Allocate space action will grow the volume by unexpected amounts. 3. If a file system previously existed (for example, when the shared folder was created with ASM) and is removed, ASM will continue to display the original quota information.
