Install system memory in
new appliance

1. Unlock the DIMM sockets in the new appliance by
pressing the retaining clips outward.
2. Lift the riser card assembly out of the chassis of the
new appliance.
3. Install the RAID controller card in the riser card
assembly (1) and secure the controller card to the
assembly using one screw (2).

4. Insert the riser card assembly back into the new
chassis.
5. Re-connect the LED cable and the hard drive cables.
Connect cable labeled 1 to the blue connector and
cables 2-4 sequentially. Cable 4 will be closest to
the hard drives.

1. On the replacement VLS1000i, remove the rear top
cover.
a. Remove the one screw securing the cover to the
chassis (1).
b. Press the button on the cover (2) and slide the
cover to the rear (3).
