HP StorageWorks 1000i Virtual Library System installation instructions (May 2006)

1. Extend the outer slide rails fully from the rack until

they lock. Insert the inner slide rails into the outer slide

rails, as shown (1). Press the inner slide lock (2), and

then push the server all the way into the rack.

Install VLS1000i in rack

2. With the server fully in the rack, insert a screw into

each bezel bracket and tighten to secure server to the

rack (1).

1. Connect one end of the network cable to the left-most

NIC connector (RJ45).

2. Connect the other end of the network cable to the

network.

3. Plug the power cord into the AC power connector.

4. Plug the other end of the power cord into the rack

power strip.

5. Press the power button located on the front of the

appliance.

6. If the appliance is racked, attach the bezel (1) to the

bezel brackets, installed in “Attach rails to

VLS1000i”, then lock the bezel (2) to the server.

This will prevent accidental power shut off.
