Selecting volumes to protect
Select the volumes you want to protect with the target virtual machine. By default, the system
volume will be selected.
You can specify the size of the selected volume on the replica virtual machine.
1. Select the checkbox next to the volume(s) to protect in the Volume table.
2. In the Storage Controller column, select the type of storage controller for the volume (IDE or
SCSI).
3. If you want to change the size of the selected volume:
a. Select the volume in the Volume table.
b. Enter a value in the Size of the selected volume on the replica virtual machine field.
c. Use the drop-down box to select whether the value is in MB or GB.
d. After you have entered the size for the selected volume, click Update.
e. Repeat steps a-d to configure the size of additional volumes on the replica virtual machine.
NOTE: A maximum of three volumes can be attached to an IDE controller. If you are
protecting more than three volumes on the source, you will need to install the Hyper-V
integration components to acquire a SCSI device. Consult your Hyper-V
documentation to determine how to install additional SCSI controllers.
NOTE: The value entered must be equal to or greater than the Used Space on the source
volume.
