Fixes
If you are
uncertain about the issues or workarounds addressed in the release notes, contact HP Technical
Support.
General
1. If the source is rebooted, the "Details" may go to an "Unknown" status until the Application
Manager is closed and re-opened.
2. If any important aspect of your conguration changes (for example, service account name
change, server I P ad dress change, server logical drive conguration change, recently added
server hardware), you should recongure protection and, if possible, not reuse the existing
conguration in order to capture the new con guration.
3. The Application Ma nag er is not loc alize d for non-English operating systems.
4. When you select "Enable Protection" in the Application M anager, there may b e a delay before
the Application Manager begins to update the Protection Status progress. During this delay, the
hourglass icon will be displayed.
5. In order to update Windows-based Active Directory-Integrated DNS records, the account
specied must be a dom ain user account with appropriate permissions. If you are not using
Windows-based DNS (that is, if you are using the /altdns switch), a domain user account
is not required.
6. WMI will accept a bad domain name as long as the username and password are correct. This
will not affect failover and failback.
7. If the server that the Application Manager is running on has a problem connecting to the
DNS server through W MI, the TTL record will not be updated. This will cause the Application
Manager to return an error that the RPC server is unavailable.
8. If you attempt to log in to the Application Manager on Windows XP with user permissions, the
Application Manager will crash. The Application Manager must be installed by the user who
will be running it or by a user with local admin credentials.
9. TheFailbackbuttonmaynotbecomeactiverightawayaftercompletingafailover. Thisis
resolved by restarting the Application Ma nager.
10 . If the source is monitoring multiple IP addresses for failover, each monitored source IP address
must be mapped to a unique target IP address in the Congure DNS window. For more
information about how to associate a target IP add ress with a sourc e IP address, see the
Application Manager User’s Guide.
