1.6.12The SFS20 storage array
Figure 1-25 shows how SFS20 storage arrays are connected to ProLiant DL380 servers.

The configuration shown here consists of a pair of servers and their associated SFS20 storage. This
configuration corresponds to two Object Storage Servers and their associated SFS20 storage. As shown in
Figure 1-25, each server has at least one SFS20 storage array attached to it. In addition, more SFS20
storage arrays can optionally be connected (as shown greyed out).
The server and SFS20 storage array are connected by UltraSCSI U360 cables. The SFS20 storage array
has two ports, which are marked as A and B on the array. One port is connected to a port on the Smart
Array 6404 adapter of one server, the other port is connected to the second server. It does not matter which
SFS20 port (A or B) is used. However, the same 6404 port must be used on both servers. Where two Smart
Array 6404 adapters are present on one or both of the servers in the server pair, the array must be
