1.6.11The EVA4000 storage array
Figure 1-24 shows how EVA4000 arrays are connected to the storage array network (SAN). It also shows
how ProLiant DL360 servers are connected to the storage arrays.

The configuration shown here consists of a pair of servers and their associated EVA4000 storage. This
configuration corresponds to two Object Storage Servers and their associated EVA4000 storage. It also
corresponds to an administration and an MDS server (and their associated EVA4000 storage) in a system
where these servers also run OST services. However, if the MDS server is dedicated to MDS services (that
is, it does not run OST services) there is only one EVA4000 array for the administration and MDS servers.
The configuration shown in Figure 1-24 has no single point of failure. Specifically, each EVA4000 array has
two controllers, each controller is connected to a separate SAN switch, and each server has two Host Bus
Adapter (HBA) ports, each of which is connected to a different SAN switch.
