HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share System Installation and Upgrade Guide Version 2.2
Hardware overview 1–27
1.6.9 The Myrinet interconnect
Figure 1-22 shows how ProLiant DL360 servers are connected to the Myrinet interconnect. The switches in
the Myrinet interconnect and the connections to the client nodes are part of, and managed by, the client
system.
Figure 1-22 shows a system using ProLiant DL360 servers; the connections in a system using ProLiant DL380
servers would be similar (subject to the rules defined in Section 2.4.1).
Figure 1-22 Myrinet interconnect
Figure 1-22 shows a Myrinet switch and Myrinet adapters in the first PCI slot on each of the ProLiant DL360
servers.
Two types of Myrinet interconnect are supported: Myrinet XP and Myrinet 2XP. Figure 1-22 reflects the
Myrinet XP interconnect type; when a Myrinet 2XP interconnect is used, there is a second connection from
each server to the interconnect. For detailed wiring instructions, refer to the HP StorageWorks Scalable File
Share for EVA4000 Hardware Installation Guide or the HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share for SFS20
Enclosure Hardware Installation Guide (depending on the type of storage used).
When a Myrinet XP interconnect is used, it is of no consequence to the HP SFS system which ports are used
to connect servers to the Myrinet switch. You can change Myrinet port assignments at any time; however,
the file systems must be stopped when you do so.
