HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share System Installation and Upgrade Guide Version 2.2
Upgrading a system8–14
2. Select the Change interconnect option, and choose the interconnect that is to be used, as
follows:
Enter your choice [c]: 7
Lustre can use various interconnects for file systems I/O.
The current options for MDS LUNs are: tcp elan
Please enter the comma-separated list of interconnects [tcp, elan]: tcp
Changes made to data do not take effect until the
data file system is restarted using the start filesystem
command.
sfs>
Repeat Step 1 and Step 2 for each file system. Remember that you must select the same interconnect
for all file systems.
3. Enter the following command to enable the Portals compatibility mode:
sfs> set attribute portals.compatibility=yes
4. If the interconnect that you selected in Step 2 is a dual Gigabit Ethernet interconnect, the set
attribute command returns an error. Only a single Gigabit Ethernet interconnect can be used in
Portals compatibility mode. The error message is as follows:
Error: this system is configured to use a Dual Gigabit Ethernet
interconnect. While in portals compatibility mode, the SFS system
can only use a single Gigabit Ethernet interconnect.
Use the configure system command to ensure that only 1 Gigabit Ethernet
network is configured on all servers.
You must then run the configure system command and reconfigure your networks so that only a
single Gigabit Ethernet network is used (that is, only one Gigabit Ethernet interconnect is configured
on all servers).
Proceed to Section 8.3.17 to verify the system upgrade.
8.3.17Step 17: Verifying the system upgrade
When you have completed the upgrade, verify the system operation by performing the following tasks:
1. Verify the system configuration using the syscheck command.
2. Verify the operation of the power management.
3. Verify the storage configuration.
4. Verify LUN performance.
5. Verify the management network.
6. Verify the interconnect, as appropriate for your interconnect type.
7. If supplementary groups are configured, verify that they are configured correctly and are working
correctly.
You can find detailed descriptions of all of these tasks in Chapter 6 of the HP StorageWorks Scalable File
Share System User Guide.
When you have finished verifying the system operation, proceed to Section 8.3.18 to start the file systems.
