Upgrading client nodes and servers to new version 8–11
To verify that the servers are operating normally, enter the show server command, as shown in the
following example, which shows a system where the servers are operating normally at this point in the
upgrade:
sfs> show server
Name State Power Services
---------- ------- ---------- ----------
south1 running on admin
south2 running on none
south3 running on none
south4 running on none
Proceed to Section 8.3.15 to install the license file.
8.3.15Step 15: Installing the license file
For information about license file concepts, see Section 2.11.
Use the following process to install the license file:
1. Log in to the administration server.
2. Copy the license file you saved earlier in the upgrade process (see Section 8.3.6), to the
administration server by entering the following command:
# cp /var/hpls/license.master /var/flexlm
3. Enter the accept license command, as follows. The terms and conditions of the license are
displayed, and you are prompted to accept them:
# sfsmgr

.
sfs> accept license
.
.
.
(Terms and conditions)
.
.
.
Do you accept these terms [yes/no]:
4. Enter yes to accept the license terms. The license is then installed, as shown in the following
example:

Installing license file. Please wait...
License file installed on this server. To complete the
installation, make sure these files are the same on both
the Administration and MDS servers:
/var/flexlm/license.master
/var/flexlm/license.lic
5. When the license is installed, copy the license files on the administration server to the MDS server, as
shown in the following example, where south2 is the MDS server.
# scp /var/flexlm/* south2:/var/flexlm
6. On the administration server, enter the show license command to verify that the license has been
installed, as shown in the following example. It takes a few seconds for the license status to be read
(during which time the Reading license status message is displayed); please wait for the
command to complete:
sfs> show license
Reading license status -- please wait...
