7.4.2 Entering networking information
Use the Configure Networks menu to configure an interface for the site network and to configure
Gigabit Ethernet, Voltaire InfiniBand, and Quadrics interconnects, using the information that you gathered
in your preinstallation planning in Section 2.4 and recorded in the worksheets in Table B-2, Table B-3, and
Table B-4.
Example 7-2 shows the Configure Networks menu.

Configure Networks -------------------------------------------------------------
This section is used to configure Gigabit Ethernet, InfiniBand and
Quadrics networks on all servers. These networks are used as interconnects
to client systems. If you do not have a Gigabit Ethernet / InfiniBand /
Quadrics interconnect you can proceed to the next section.

Enter 1 to select the Configure Gigabit Ethernet Networks option, and configure the eth1
interface for use as the site network (see Section 7.4.2.1 for information on configuring Gigabit Ethernet
networks). Note that if the interface used for your site network is also a Gigabit Ethernet interconnect, you
must specify that the interface is to be configured on all servers.
When you have configured an interface for the site network, use the instructions in the appropriate sections
to configure any other interconnect(s) you are using, as follows:
• If you want to configure additional Gigabit Ethernet interconnect(s), select the Configure Gigabit
Ethernet Networks option and follow the instructions in Section 7.4.2.1.
• If you want to configure bonded Gigabit Ethernet interconnect(s), select the Configure Gigabit
Ethernet Networks option and follow the instructions in Section 7.4.2.2.
• If you want to configure an InfiniBand interconnect, select the Configure InfiniBand
Interconnect option and follow the instructions in Section 7.4.2.3 (and in Section 7.4.2.4, if the
interconnect is partitioned).
• If you want to configure a Quadrics interconnect, select the Configure Quadrics
Interconnect option and follow the instructions in Section 7.4.2.5.
• If your system uses a Myrinet interconnect only, no configuration is needed. When you have
configured the interface for your site network, select the Next Section option and proceed to
Section 7.4.3.
