6.18.5Identifying service LUNs for Object Storage Servers
You now need to identify a service LUN for each Object Storage Server pair.
To identify a service LUN for an Object Storage Server pair, perform the following steps:
1. Enter the show server command to see the LUNs that are visible to the servers in the server pair, as
shown in the following example. As the server is not yet fully configured, the Current Config.
State parameter is set to Db_Moved (and not to Configure), while the State parameter is set to
not-configured:
NOTE: If the LUNs have been correctly presented to the servers, the LUNs that are visible to one
server in the pair will also be visible to the second server in the pair. Therefore, you only need to
enter the show server command on one of the servers to see the LUNs that are visible to the
server pair.
sfs> show server south3

2. To determine which LUNs are suitable for use as service LUNs, you need to know the size of the LUNs.
To see the size of each LUN, enter the following command:
sfs> show lun
LUN Array Role Used by Size(GB) Preferred Server Visible to
--- ----- ----- ---------- -------- ---------------- ----------
7 1 unknown - 1 - south[3-4]
8 1 unknown - 290 - south[3-4]
9 1 unknown - 290 - south[3-4]
3. In the above example, LUN 7 is a suitable size for a service LUN. Enter the show lun command for
the LUN (as shown in the following example), and use the array WWID displayed to verify that you
have selected the correct LUN (by verifying the array WWID against the information you recorded on
the worksheet for each array):
sfs> show lun 7
