HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share System Installation and Upgrade Guide Version 2.2

Step 15: Installing and configuring the MDS server 6–29
To complete the presentation of virtual disks to the MDS server, perform the following steps:
1. Update the EVA4000 host entry using either the SSSU utility or the Command View EVA Web
interface, as follows:
Using the SSSU utility
Connect to the array where you created the host entry for the administration and MDS server pair, as
shown in the following example:
sssu> select system HSV01
HSV01>
Then enter the commands shown in the following example, where the south1-south2 host is
updated to include the HBA ports in the MDS server south2:
HSV01> SET HOST "\Hosts\sfs\south1-south2"
ADD_WORLD_WIDE_NAME="2100-00e0-8b0f-1200"
HSV01> SET HOST "\Hosts\sfs\south1-south2"
ADD_WORLD_WIDE_NAME="2100-00fe-7b0f-9001"
If there are two EVA4000 arrays assigned to the administration and MDS server pair, connect to the
second array, and repeat these commands on that array to update the host entry for the server pair
on that array also.
The LUNs on the array were presented to the south1-south2 host when the administration server
was configured. When you update the host to include the HBA ports of the MDS server, the LUNs are
automatically presented to the MDS server.
Using the Command View EVA Web interface
a. In the Navigation pane, select the host, then select the Ports tab on the Contents pane of the
Host Properties page, and click the Add port button.
b. On the Add a Host Port page, enter the WWID of the first HBA port on the MDS server, then
click the Add port button.
Figure 6-4 shows the Add a Host Port page.
Figure 6-4 Add a Host Port page
Repeat these steps to add the WWID of the second HBA port on the MDS server.
If there are two EVA4000 arrays assigned to the administration and MDS server pair, repeat these
commands to update the host on the second array.
The LUNs on the array were presented to the south1-south2 host when the administration server
was configured. When you update the host to include the HBA ports of the MDS server, the LUNs are
automatically presented to the MDS server.
2. Shut down the MDS server by entering the command shown in the following example (where south2
is the MDS server):
sfs> shutdown server south2
