HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share System Installation and Upgrade Guide Version 2.2
Step 8: Configuring the system parameters 6–19
NOTE: The attributes of bonded Gigabit Ethernet interconnects are stored in the bonding_options
attribute. If there is more than one bonded network, the attributes are common to all bonded networks. You
can change these attributes after the system is installed. Refer to Chapter 7 of the HP StorageWorks
Scalable File Share System User Guide for more information.
6.8.2.3 Configuring InfiniBand interconnects
To configure an InfiniBand Interconnect, enter 1 on the Configure InfiniBand Interconnect menu
to select the ipoib0 device. When prompted, enter the information that you gathered in your preinstallation
planning in Section 2.4 and recorded in the worksheet in Table B-3. If your InfiniBand interconnect is
partitioned, you can change the default Pkey (0xffff) for the ipoib0 device to the Pkey of one of the
partitions.
NOTE: When you first configure an InfiniBand interconnect, you specify the IP address on the interconnect
for the first server in the system. The system software assumes that the IP addresses for all of the servers in
the system are contiguous, and assigns the IP addresses accordingly. However, you can later change the
IP addresses of individual servers. The process for doing this is described in Chapter 7 of the
HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share System User Guide.
Example 6-6 shows an example of configuring an InfiniBand interconnect.
Example 6-6 Configure InfiniBand Interconnect menu
Configure InfiniBand Interconnect ----------------------------------------------
This section is used to configure the InfiniBand network on all servers.
This network is used as an interconnect to client systems. If you do not have an
InfiniBand interconnect you can proceed to the next section.
You must assign an IP address for ipoib0. In addition, if you use fabric paritioning
you must add an IB interface for each partition that the SFS system should access.
Note: a network device is marked as Unused if a Start IP for the network has not been
entered. Once a Start IP is entered the device is marked as Inuse.
1) ipoib0 Unused
2) Add IB Interface
3) Delete IB Interface

IB Interface (ipoib0) ----------------------------------------------------------
This section is used to configure an InfiniBand Device.
The Start IP is the IP assigned to the Administration server. The addresses
of the remaining servers are determined by incrementing the address of the
Administation server.
The partition key is used to associate the IB interface with an InfiniBand
fabric partition. Enter the partition key used when creating the InfiniBand
switch partition.
The default partition key associated with ipoib0 is 0xffff.

2) Start IP None
3) Netmask 255.255.255.0
4) MTU 1500
5) Partition Key 0xffff
