1.3 Limitations
This section describes limitations of the HP SFS Version 2.3 software, and is organized as follows:
• OFED1.2 does not support Red Hat 4 update 6 (Section 1.3.1)
• OFED1.2.5 does not support SLES10 SP1 i686 SFS clients (Section 1.3.2)
• OFED1.3 does not support i686 SFS clients (Section 1.3.3)
• Voltaire ibhost stack not supported on SLES10 SP1 (Section 1.3.4)
• Performance reduction for mirrored OST (Section 1.3.5)
1.3.1 OFED1.2 does not support Red Hat 4 update 6
Any client system with a RHEL4u6 Linux kernel will not support OFED1.2.
1.3.2 OFED1.2.5 does not support SLES10 SP1 i686 SFS clients
Any client system with a SLES10 SP1 i686 Linux kernel will not support OFED1.2.5.
1.3.3 OFED1.3 does not support i686 SFS clients
Any client system with a i686 Linux kernel will not support OFED1.3.
1.3.4 Voltaire ibhost stack not supported on SLES10 SP1
Any client system with a SLES10 SP1 Linux kernel version will not support the Voltaire Infiniband 3.4.5 ibhost
stack (VIB).
1.3.5 Performance reduction for mirrored OST
Customers who use OST mirroring should note that they could see a reduction in read/write performance
for certain applications that use multiple clients.
