HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share Release Notes - Version 2.2-1
New and changed features in HP SFS Version 2.2-11–8
1.3 Known issues and workarounds in HP SFS Version 2.2-1
This section describes known issues and workarounds in the HP SFS Version 2.2-1 software, and is
organized as follows:
• Configuring an InfiniBand interface (vib stack only) with the wrong partition key (Section 1.3.1)
• InfiniHost III Lx HCAs are not supported with OFED (Section 1.3.2)
• Configuring the subnet mask on a HP SFS system with an InfiniBand Interconnect (Section 1.3.3)
• Voltaire InfiniBand stack fails to load if the node chipset does not support MSIX (Section 1.3.4)
• Tuning OFED o2ib LND performance for MT23108 HCAs (Section 1.3.5)
• OSS on HP ProLiant DL360 G4 servers should be rebooted after upgrade (Section 1.3.6)
• SUSE SLES9 clients do not support long directory names (Section 1.3.7)
• Cannot switch InfiniBand stacks while partioned interfaces are configured (Section 1.3.8)
• Issue with final confirmation question when adding a new InfiniBand interface (Section 1.3.9)
1.3.1 Configuring an InfiniBand interface (vib stack only) with the wrong partition
key
If the InfiniBand interconnect is not partitioned, you must configure a single IP interface (for example,
ipoib0 when using the vib stack) with the default partition key (Pkey) value of 0xffff. If you enter a
partition key other than 0xffff and configure the server and then later enter the correct partition key of
0xffff followed by a configure server you may end up with two ipoib devices (ipoib0 and ipoib1).
Possible symptoms of this problem are error messages while configuring a system, such as:
Failed to delete IB device ipoib0
or
Failed to add IB interface
To fix this problem you need to do the following on the problem nodes:
• Disable and reenable the vib stack as follow:
# pdsh -a lsnetvib disable
# pdsh -a lsnetvib enable
• Reconfigure the servers as follows:
# sfsmgr
sfs> configure server all
1.3.2 InfiniHost III Lx HCAs are not supported with OFED
HP SFS Version 2.2-1 does not support OFED on InfiniHost III Lx HCAs. If your system uses these HCAs, you
must configure the Voltaire LND. This must be done on both the client system and the HP SFS system.
You can identify InfiniBand HCAs with the following command:
# lspci | grep -i infiniband
For InfiniHost III Lx HCAs, the output is similar to:
13:00.0 InfiniBand: Mellanox Technologies MT25204 [InfiniHost III Lx HCA] (rev 20)
To configure the Voltaire LND on the HP SFS system, use the configure system command as described
in Chapter 7 of the HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share System User Guide. For instructions on configuring
the Voltaire LND on an HP XC Version 3.2 system, see the HP XC release notes.
