HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share Release Notes - Version 2.2-1
New and changed features in HP SFS server software 1–5
1.2.7 Updated configure system command
The configure system command has been extended to allow switching between the Voltaire and OFED
stacks.
1.2.8 New lustre.lnet global system attribute
A new lustre.lnet global system attribute now allows you to override the automatically generated
options lnet networks parameter in /modprobe.conf. Refer to Chapter 7 of the HP StorageWorks
Scalable File Share System User Guide for more information.
1.2.9 Updated show networks command
The show networks command now displays the Lustre LNET name and index for each interconnect.
1.2.10 Updated sfsview command
The sfsview command now displays the server version, and much more information about the server
networks configuration.
1.2.11 Additional sfsmount command warning
The sfsmount command now warns if the mount did not occur on the expected LNET, and logs the warning
in /var/log/messages. This feature is useful for detecting network problems.
1.2.12 Changed default rebuild priority for the configure array command
In previous releases of HP SFS, the default rebuild priority for SFS20 arrays was set to high. Setting the
rebuild priority to high prioritizes the RAID rebuild operation, and lowers the priority of host requests; this
means that the I/O performance on the array is heavily degraded during the time that the RAID rebuild
operation is in progress.
In HP SFS Version 2.2-1, the rebuild priority used when configuring an SFS20 array depends on the RAID
level. When a RAID level of ADG is used, the rebuild priority is set to medium. When a RAID level of RAID5
is used, the rebuild priority is set to high.
1.2.13 Host ssh keys are now persistent
In previous HP SFS releases, when you upgraded an SFS server, the host keys of the Administration and MDS
servers changed. After HP SFS Version 2.2-1, the host keys will not change. However, you will not see the
effect of this change until the next time you upgrade the HP SFS system software, that is, when you install
HP SFS Version 2.2-1, the ssh keys will change.
Although the host keys are the same after the upgrade process as before the upgrade, during the upgrade
process itself, the keys are temporarily changed. If you perform the upgrade using the attached keyboard
and monitor, you will not notice this. However, if you perform some or all of the upgrade remotely, the keys
appear to change twice—once when the new software image is installed and then later when the keys are
restored to their prior (pre-upgrade) values.
1.2.14 Increased file system recovery period
In HP SFS Version 2.2-1 the recovery period has been increased from 1.5 to 2 times the file system timeout.
This means that the recovery period has been increased to a maximum time of 400 seconds as opposed to
300 seconds on HP SFS Version 2.2-0 (with the default 200 seconds timeout). Note that in most situations
the recovery will complete in less time than this.
