HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share for SFS20 Enclosure Hardware Installation Guide Version 2.2

Note:
The HP ProCurve switch is installed in the rack with the back side facing the front of the rack.
2.4.2.1 Reset Button
The reset button is used to reset the switch while it is turned on. This action clears any temporary
error conditions that may have occurred and executes the switch self-test.
2.4.2.2 Clear Button
The clear button is used for the following purposes:
Deleting Passwords — When pressed by itself for at least 1 second, the button deletes any
switch console access passwords that you may have configured. Use this feature if you have
misplaced the password and need console access. This button is provided for your
convenience, but its presence means that if you are concerned with the security of the switch
configuration and operation, make sure the switch is installed in a secure location, such as
a locked wiring closet.
Restoring Factory Default Configuration When pressed with the Reset button in a specific
pattern, any configuration changes you may have made through the switch console, the
Web browser interface, and SNMP management are removed, and the factory default
configuration is restored to the switch. For the specific method to restore the factory default
configuration, see Chapter 4 of the HP ProCurve Switch 2650 Installation and Getting Started
Guide.
2.5 Rackmount Keyboard and Monitor and KVM Switch
A thin-film transistor (TFT) TFT5600 rackmount keyboard and monitor provides direct local
access to the HP SFS MDS and administration servers. As shown in Figure 2-16 “TFT5600
Rackmount Keyboard Monitor, the TFT5600 is connected to the administration node and to the
MDS server through a keyboard-video-mouse (KVM) server console switch located directly
behind the TFT. The rack brackets of the KVM integrate with those of the TFT. The TFT5600 is
mounted in the rack containing the MDS and administration servers.
Figure 2-16 TFT5600 Rackmount Keyboard Monitor
An 8-port KVM server console switch (Figure 2-17 “Rear View of 8-Port KVM Server Console
Switch”) provides access to the administration and MDS servers, and Storage Management
Appliance (SMA) for system management purposes.
