2.3.1 HP SFS20 Enclosure
The SFS20 is a serial advanced technology attachment (SATA) disk drive 2U enclosure. It houses
up to 12 1-inch universal hot-pluggable SATA 1.5 Gb/s drives with 160- or 250-GB capacity.
The storage consists of a minimum of one SFS20 for each Object Storage Server, and a mirrored
pair of HP SFS20 Enclosures for the MDS and administration servers. HP SFS20 Enclosures can
be added with a maximum of 8 enclosures for the Object Storage Servers, and two mirrored pairs
for the MDS and administration servers.
The following components are part of the HP SFS20 Enclosure:
• One 2U assembly which houses the disks, power supplies, and fans
• Hot-pluggable dual-redundant power supplies
• Hot-pluggable dual-redundant fans
• Controller module with dual U320 VHDCI SCSI inputs
• Storage capacity of 12 serial advanced technology attached (SATA) hot-pluggable disk drives
• Supported RAID options for the SFS20 are RAID5 and RAID6 (ADG).
