HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share Release Notes - Version 2.2-1
New and changed features in HP SFS Version 2.2-11–4
Up until SFS firmware Version 2.02 there were different firmware binaries for SFS20 and MSA20.
Starting with Version 2.02 this is no longer be the case. For Version 2.02 and later the MSA20 and
SFS20 share the same version of firmware.
NOTE: MSA20 firmware Version 2.02 requires Smart Array firmware Version 2.74 or higher.
Download the firmware from the MSA20 section of the HP support website as follows:
1. Go to:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/storage/us/family/model/
6046.html?prodTypeId=12169
2. Select the appropriate version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
3. Select the Online ROM Flash Component for Linux in the
Firmware - Storage Controller category.
1.2.3 Additional support for non-0 LNETs
Support has been added for non-0 LNETs for all types of LNETs, for example, vib1. (non-0 LNETs were
previously only supported for tcp in the case of multiple tcp networks.) On HP SFS client software, the
sfsconfig command sets local LNET numbers to a non-0 index if it finds that the client is connected to a
server with a non-0 index. For connections to multiple servers with distinct LNETs (for example, vib0 and
vib1), the index used for the client is that of the server on the closest LNET.
On HP SFS server software, use the global system attribute lustre.lnet to force a non-0 index if
required. Refer to Chapter 7 of the HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share System User Guide for more
information.
1.2.4 Spare Adm LUN is now kept up-to-date
The configuration process for the administration server now configures the spare administration (adm) LUN
and backs up the contents of the adm LUN to the spare adm LUN. This backup of the adm LUN only occurs
at the end of the first successful run of the configure server command on the administration server
after install or upgrade.
The nightly cron job, hpls_backup_database has been enhanced to back up the contents of the adm
LUN to the spare adm LUN.
1.2.5 Updated show server command
The show server <server_name> command now has a new Physical Disks field as shown below:
State: running
Power: on
Internal Logical Disk: OK
Physical Disks: Bay 0: ok Bay 1: ok
Server Enabled: yes
Primary Services: admin
Running Services: admin
This field shows the status of the internal physical drives in HP ProLiant DL360 or DL380 servers. Normally
the Administration and MDS servers have two disks and an OSS has one disk.
1.2.6 Use the python-ldap provided in the HP SFS Client Enabler kit
Python-ldap for RHEL 9 is not provided on the operating system installation media or in the HP SFS Client
Enabler kit. Please use the version of python-ldap provided in the HP SFS Client Enabler kit for RHEL 8.
