5 Account Synchroniza tion
Use this view to configure dynamic account synchronization (DAS) , which automatically creates and
updates email user accounts on the RISS, and imports groups and group memberships. You can define
multiple configurations that track sets of users from one or more L DAP servers for specific RISS domains.
This chapter contains the following topics:
Account Synchronization overview, page 41
Creating and running DAS jobs, page 42
Editing or deleting jobs, page 46
Managing available HTTP portals, page 46
Editing or deleting available LDA P connections,page46

ynchroniz ation overview
The Account Synchronization view is divided into three sections.
The DAS Available Jobs section lists all jobs created and assigned to an HT TP portal.
The LDAP
Server Connectors section lists available LDAP connections.
The Jobs History Logs section shows the histor y of DAS job runs.
Using DAS in a Domino environment
There are some differences when using DAS in a Lotus Domino environment, rather than a Microsoft
Exchange environment:
Automatic user deletion is not suppor ted. If a user is deleted in the D om ino directory, the user is
not deleted automatically in the RISS, which can lead to duplicate user profiles in the RISS.
Automatic creation of RISS routing rules for each Domino user email alias is not supported.
NOTE:
Domino User Account Security: When D omino user accounts are synchronized through DAS, the
Domino LDAP service provides authentication when users connect to the RISS Web Interface. It is very
important that all users have a valid Internet Password Domino LDAP authenticates users via the
Internet Passwor d field in the user’s Domino Directory Person document. A blank Internet Password would
allowanyonetoeasilylogintotheusersRISSaccount.
Refer to IBM Lotus Software’s Dom ino Administration help documentation topics “Setting up password
veri fication, “Managing Internet passwords, and “Providing additional security for Internet passwords
for additional information about setting up Internet Passwords.
