Overview
Email Miner is a Lotus Notes m ail administration product that mines documents from mail databases
and/or journal databases and places the documents within the RISS architecture.
Architecture
The Email Miner databases must be installed on every mail server that requires processing. This is
because all Email Miner activity is d one locally; no network connectivity occurs while Email Miner is
processing the databases. Each Email Miner server processes only the databases which have that ser ver
assigned as the home server within the Name and Address Book.
During the installation process, three Email Miner agents are created for each server on which Email
Miner is installed. These agents process all Mail Restrictions that the administrators have created. Each
Mail Restriction can be as detailed as you want: you can have a Mail Restriction span the entire
enterprise or you can create one specific to a mail server and/or mail user. Each M ail Restriction must
be assigned a priority.
