2. Back up storage pools (only the ones for smart cell group data).
a. Define a storage pool for the media that will be used for the backup:

b. Perform the backup of the client data:
tsm: INTERNAL>backup stgpool SP.GROUP.PRI.OPTICAL disaster-

It is assumed that the process used volume OPTICAL.2 for backup data, since OPTICAL.1
contains the client data.
3. Perform a full backup of the database:
tsm: INTERNAL>backup db type=full devclass=DC.OPTICAL
Volume OPTICAL.3 was used for the database backup.
4. Move backup volumes offsite.
a. This command should list the volumes OPTICAL.2 and OPTICAL.3:
tsm: INTERNAL>query drmedia * wherestate=mountable

tsm: INTERNAL>move drmedia * wherestate=mountable
Volumes OPTICAL.2 and 3 were moved to the exit port of the library; their state was set to
notmountable.
c. This marks the state of the two volumes as courier:

5. Create the recovery plan file and copy it to a safe location. This file includes the configuration
inf ormation.
a. Create the directory c:\tsmbackup on the backup server.

This process creates a single file that contains instructions, macros, the Volume History,
Device Configuration, a nd Server Options file.
6. Use this procedure to manually back up the configuration:
